“Still United” Conference
The “Still United” conference to be held this August 4 – 7 in Los Angeles is a monumental event in the Korean American UMC, bringing together Nexus Ministry, the National Association of Korean American United Methodists Serving Cross-Racial Appointments (NAKAUSCRA), and the National Association of Korean American United Methodist Clergywomen (NAKAUMC).
This year’s convocation is centered around Three Key Themes: Your Calling Matters, Your Story Matters, and Your Representation Matters. Through dynamic worship services, insightful panel discussions, engaging workshops, and shared fellowship, we will reflect on how God is moving in and through our ministries. We are expecting more than 200 Korean American clergy, clergywomen, and their families, to celebrate our shared mission and strengthen our collective witness. Childcare will be provided during the conference. Though the three organizations will share times of worship and seminars, there will be separate times of plenary sessions.
Our time together will include:
- Inspiring Worship Services, featuring messages from our national-wide colleagues.
- Thought-Provoking Panel Discussion, with Korean American leaders of our denomination.
- Workshops on Healing Generational Trauma, Anti-Racism, and Clergy Well-being,
- Plenary Sessions from NAKAUMC, NEXUS, and NAKAUMPSCRA, fostering conversation and vision for the future
- A Free Day for Fellowship and Fun, with opportunities to visit Universal Studios, the beach, or a Dodgers game
SCHOLARSHIPS
Scholarships are available to provide the cost of a ONE-NIGHT STAY at the Sheraton Gateway for the Still United Conference. To qualify, you must register for the conference and book your stay at the Sheraton Gateway. The reimbursement for one hotel night will be provided at a later date. The deadline to apply for this scholarship is May 15.

REGISTRATION AT A LOW COST
With the understanding that families will be paying for the airfare and hotel directly, the design team has decided to only charge a $100 registration fee for the whole family. This includes the cost for two breakfasts, one lunch, and three dinners for everyone. The cost for commuters will only be $50 – but you will not be provided with the hotel breakfast or lunch (dinner will be provided at the church). We encourage pastors to use their reimbursement accounts from church; scholarships will be available for clergy who are in financial need.
STAYING AT THE SHERATON GATEWAY LAX
We have secured the beautiful Sheraton Gateway as the location for the conference. We will provide you with a special link to directly make reservations at the Sheraton Gateway for a discounted price. We would encourage you to arrive early or stay a few more days to explore Los Angeles – all at the same low discounted price (only between August 1 to 10). However, you will be making the reservations directly with the Sheraton Gateway and pay them directly as well. Sheraton Gateway provides free airport shuttle service from LAX.
